Ivan and Jane's Vantasy Island, August 2024 - Part 1

I went to Ivan and Jane's truck-in in Howard Lake, MN for the first time in August.  It was hosted by Northwestern Vanners & Naughty but Nice Vanners.  They change the theme every year and 2024 was "Vantasy Island".  I heard so many good things about this particular truck-in that I wanted to check it out.  Kenny's farm is like a field of dreams for vanners, from the idyllic setting to the oversized van-themed games.  I brought my son along, stayed Friday and Saturday night and took a ton of photos.  Here's Kenny:

Oversized games included Van-Hole (like cornhole but with a van and a giant slingshot):

They even had a paintball course set up!  One person would drive the van and the other would shoot paintballs from the trailer at designated targets for points.  There was a guy in the trailer keeping score.  Then you would switch.  It was super fun.

I drove my 78 Dodge.

There were lots of other vans too, of course.

Separate Ways:

Aurora brought the Sorceress.  I think this was the big debut of her & James' new van.  They have big things planned and are hard at work over the winter with mods as I type this.

I believe this is Kenny's work in progress... at least one of them.

There was a grain tower on the farm where you could go to the top and look out.  The view was awesome.

The windmill had lights and a swing at the bottom.

Mystic Traveler!

So much amazing history in these dash plaques:

This was the schedule for the weekend:

The Dodge van bar was very cool.

Just a few plaques from Twin City Vans events:

Dakota Street Vans were there.

The kids loved the foam pit.

We got a little piece of a rainbow Friday evening so I ran around trying to get photos before it disappeared.

As the sun went down, the tiki torches were lit.

There band was good Friday night, "The Chubs":

Justin and Aurora had great lighting effects set up between their vans.

I just had my red halos.

Inside, it was more festive.

Well, that was just Friday.  Lots of photos from Saturday are up next.
