Chariots of the Gods, August 2024 - Part 1

Chariots of the Gods was in its 11th year and was held, as usual, in the "triangle of tranquility" in Northeast Minneapolis on August 10th, 2024.  This is the event that really got me into custom vans.  It's not a traditional vans-only truck-in as it's open to the public.  There's no big event schedule, no judging/awards... it's just a very laid back event with a couple of vendors and some live music too.  For many years, I attended by riding my motorcycle there.  It's only in the last few years that I've brought my own van and stayed the night.  Here is one of the license plates you could buy commemorating the event.  It pretty much tells you all you need to know.

As usual, I took a ridiculous amount of photos so let's jump right in...

The latest incarnation of Ramblin' Fever was there:

I LOVED how the doors swing open on Kenny's van:

Tommy's Econobar:

I was both excited and saddened to see these.  There is a ton of really old Twin City Vans history right here but they were all water-damaged.  I really wanted to flip through them but didn't want to damage them further.

Pickle:

Ramblin' Fever had a lot of bodywork done to it and looks ready for many more years of vannin'.

Rosco!

There are skulls all over this van - the closer you look, the more you see.  Yes there are some in the taillights but there are even subtly embossed skulls all over the black stripe.

I took a quick peek inside the Moto Collective and said hi to Aleks and his wife.  The projects in there are always so interesting.

Lots more van photos are up next!!!
