Rochester Cycle Show and Swap 2012 - Part 1

The 2012 Rochester Cycle Show and Swap Meet was held at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, MN on Saturday, February 25th.

To the best of my knowledge the show doesn't have a website.  E-mail me if it does!  I only found out about the show because of a flyer at the Gringo & Mickey's Swap Meet in Anoka, MN.  I'm really glad I made the two hour drive down from the Twin Cities.

The show wasn't huge but it was definitely quality over quantity.  I would say the same of the swap meet portion.  It was all indoors with bikes in the front and swap meet in the back.

As you walked into the Civic Center, a few businesses and vendors had displays before you got to the main room.  Rochester Harley-Davidson had a bunch of new bikes including the new Seventy-Two Sportster in black.  I honestly can't decide if I like the black or metalflake red better.  I really like it (for a stock bike).

Krome Werks had a display right next to them.  Check out their drag bike.  I love the wheelie photo.

In the main room, there were a few unusual Harleys at the show.  First up is a trio of Harley Shortsters (X-90s).

Next is a 1975 MX250, one of only 50 made by Harley Davidson.

At first glance, this might look like a Harley but don't let the Sportster tank fool you.  It's a 1968 Triumph Bonneville 650.  It is bare bones and beautiful.  No mirrors, turn signals, gauges, front fender, front brake, or anything unnecessary for operation.  The bike was as simple and clean as could be.  It was one of my favorites.

Many, many more pics to come from the show over the next few days.  Check back!
